Not To Miss in July
Every Saturday in July throughout the summer the Town of Lac Brome (Knowlton) will be presenting a Farmer's Market. Fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, smoked fish, homemade pies and fresh cut flowers will be offered in an outdoor market environment. The Market will be located at 48 Maple Street in Knowlton and will run from 10am to 1pm every Saturday. See you there!

July 12-20
The Tour Des Arts
the 20th edition of the Tour Des Arts. Artsist of the Knowlton region display their talents in one of the most popular art exhibits in the Eastern Townships feature art in Sutton, Knowlton, Mansonville and Bolton. The Tour Des Arts features a guided tourbook and map so you can take a leisurely drive and visit the artists of your choice. One of the best summer events we have! Happy Birthday Canada

Come out and enjoy the ultimate party as Knowlton Celebrates Canada Day with style! The long-weekend in Lac Brome is sure to be busy and the draped Canadian Flags stir up the pride in our hearts! There is a Panacake Breakfast at the Odfellows Hall from 8 am-10:30 am. The kids bycycle parade, antique car show, raising of the flag at the Legion, music, dancing, cake,ice cream and even a petting zoo will be set up in Lions Park. The fun goes into the night with country and blues music and of course Fireworks at dusk! So much to do but don't forget to salute the flag! Canada Day from Years Ago in Knowlton

Bromont En Art Visual Art Festival

The 10th edition of the Bromont Symposium of Visual Arts takes place in lovely Bromont only a short drive from Knowlton. There are over 75 artists exposing their works including painters, sculptures and photographers bringing over 1000 pieces together in one spectacular showing of art from modern to kitchy, classical to absurd and there is surely to be something for every taste. Bromont can have hectic traffic on the week-ends due to the Bromont Flea Market, or the Circus, or the ourdoor shopping complex recently built on Exit 78 so take your time and relax on your way to Bromont En Art and when you're done come down to Knowlton for some quiet time at the beach! There will be a silent auction, cockatails, performances, a draw, and a chance to meet the artists at the opening recption (Tickets are $50). The event takes place at the Bromont Sports & Cultural Center in Bromont, Quebec, 20 John-Savage Road. Info: 450-534-1344. Kayaking on Brome Lake during the warm evenings of July is a wonderful chance to quietly enjoy our natual surroundings.

Karnak Shriners Western Festival
Come join the fun and see why the Rodeo was chosen by L'Association des Cowboys de l'Est du Canada as the "Best Rodeo of 2005" and "Best New Rodeo". Don't miss this great event this year! Brome Fairgrounds, Brome. Information:(450) 242-3976

The Shriners Western Festival is proud to announce a partnership with the Quebec Tractor Pulling Association. The event will take place in Brome on July 18-19-20, 2008. Fill in a form and deposit at entrance for a surprise draw! Showtimes: Friday, July 18th – 12:00 Saturday, July 19th – 12:00 Saturday Bbq Supper - $15 BBQ Roast beef & pork, gravy, salad bar, coffee included. Only 600 tickets will be sold. Sunday, July 20th – 12:00 Friday, activities start at 12 Noon, there will be giant balloon games for the kids, music and entertainment as well as shops open for everyone to visit. Tractor pull competition will be at 7P.M. sharp. Saturday activities start at 12:00 with the same as Friday plus some surprises. Tractor show at 7 P.M. Sunday starts at 12:00, with show time at 2 P.M.

Tractor Pull Competition

Competition sanctioned by the Quebec Tractor Pulling Association to be held on the Brome Fair grounds in association with the Karnak Shriner's Western Festival. Bring your ear plugs and mingle with the red necks!

Pettes Memorial Library Book Sale

The annual book sale that sees hundreds of frenzied book lovers converge under the branches of the trees in downtown Knowlton is again coming to the tents on the grounds of the Pettes Library. Come and browse the long tables and boxes upon boxes of paperbacks, reference books, children's books and coffee table books! The crowds gather early to get the best of the pickings but there are great books and some unique vintage books to be found so whatever you do...come on down! One of the biggest book sales in the Eastern Townships, the sale starts Saturday from 8am to 4pm and continues Sunday from 10am to 3pm. The Pettes Memorial Library is downtown Knowlton on the corner of Knowlton Road and Lakeside.

July 20th
Antique & Craft Market

The lovely Museum grounds are full of unique antiques and wonderful crafts as the annual Antique and Craft Market turns the weekend in Knowlton into a magic trip through history via the incredible collection of fantatsical and forgotten articles from yesteryear. The annual Antique Sale in Knowlton is a popular event and when the week-end weather co-operates it cretaes an old fashioned Victorian atmosphere in the town that cannot be beat! While visiting the Antique Fair make time to visit the permanent Antique Stores in Knowlotn on the main street not far from the Museum. The Musuem grounds are at 130 Lakeside and the show is from 9am to 4pm.

Brome Lake Duck Festival
As the leaves turn there crimson mix of orange delights the duck festival again showcases the world famous ducks that have made Brome Lake famous. There are sidewalk boutiques and culinary demonstrations and competitions by world-class chefs who converge on Knowlton for this prestigious event. Always a crowd-pleaser the Duck Festival is one of the most popular events in the tourist season.
